28-10 VCT

Today we've studied the evolution of the London underground map from a messy and chaotic to a coded, orthogonal, communicative and informative one:
F.H. Stingmore's first route guide in use from 1919 to 1933.
Harry Beck's first diagrammatic map, 1933.

Nowadays tube map.

NOT ONLY THE TUBE MAP CAN BE SEEN AS A PIECE OF ART.

27-10 Museum of Brands, packaging and advertising

On Wednesday, I've been to the museum of Brands, packaging and advertising in Nothing Hill.

---> If you are interrested:  http://www.museumofbrands.com/

This was a little bit messy but i really liked seeing the evolution of our every day life packaging:

I have realised something: at one time,
 monopoly was a NEW game!!

24-10

f

Today, Sunday 24th october I have been to the world famous Modern Tate Galerie for the first time in my life!

This is such a big museum, I haven't had enought time to focus on everything, but here are the 2 areas I have spend the more time in.
I would like to come back with a guide, or take the audio-explanation because I think that I could have such a deeper interpretation and emotions by knowing the historical and human context of each creation, especially for modern art.
I can prove it!

22-10 Museum of everything

Hey blue 01, let's go to the museum of everything!
THIS WAY->

   W...E...L...C...O...M...E

  To tell the truth,
the only one thing I've understood is the name on the museum...
I think it's very well chosen!!

Unfortunatly we were not allowed to take any pictures inside but that's how I would have depicted it:

Circus, strange people, freaks, dwarf, cycles, squirrel, mirror, fairy tale, disturbing atmosphere, shell, frightening, perturbing,
 upseting, bizarre.

.

Walter Potter's work who recreate humain
life scene with stuffed animals was amazing.

22-10 InDesign

Today was my first InDesign experimentation.
Look at my masterpiece !

I really enjoyed this teaching, I'm can't wait to implement what I've learnt to compare it with photoshop.

12-10 Sketchbook

During the sketchbook class, we had to visit school to make sketches which made me discover the building

15-10 Narrative

Today was narrative with David Sims. This was a cropping workshop divided into tree parts that I'll illustrate with selected creations of my classmates I really liked:

1) From the given images we had to choose an area to focus on in order to change the signification.

2) Using the newspapers we had to create narratives scene, just like a story bord.

This is my work:

3) Still using the newspapers the exercise was to associate images and headings to give a different meaning to the image.

8-10 Image

On friday, october 8th was my first "Image" course with Darren Raven. We studied the different relationship we could find in a oak leaf structure:

Then we've used newspapers to create "collages" studiying step by step the best composition possible.
This could be a source of inspiration:

The students and their collages, after the cleaning of the room!

7- 10 First day at London College of Communication.

After attending to the first day of class of Graphic and media Design Year 1, then Graphic and Media Design year 0, I finally found my course and on Thursday october 7th I had my first day of workshop in Fda Design for Graphic Communication, Year 1 at London College of Communication.

Such a big place!

This was "Visual culture and theory" with Monica Parrinder. The teacher gave us about thirty postcards and a list of sentences such as : welcome home big brother, stop the cameras, play without fear, make mistake... and we had to associate as pertinently as possible postcards and words.

I really appreciated this one:
