29-11 Snow on Paris

This week end I went back to Paris. i really appreciated rediscovering my city, noticing all changes just like when you haven't seen someone for a while, especially with snow everywhere.

This is an advertising I have found in a newspaper that I really appreciate for his clarity.

To me, this is effective because the reading is easy and quick.
The message is clear and makes the viewer want to know more about it, it gives the client the feeling of being part of the process of realisation.

21-10 V&A

Today, I have been to the V&A Gallery to see the exhibition "Shadow Catchers".

I 've realised that it was possible to immortalize the present by many other ways than pictures or drawings.

They presented threw the creations of  

Floris Neusüss, Pierre Cordier, Garry Fabian Miller, Susan Derges, Adam Fuss 

6 very interresting tools:

- Chemigram

-Digital C-print

- Dye destruction print

- Gelatin -Silver print 

- Luminogram

-Photogram 

I have discovered an artist I am going to follow and look for more pieces of information from now because his art really touched me.

16-10 PPD

Personnal and professionnal developpement, with Catherine on Tuesday was very interresting. She asked us to explain the pathway, according to us, between the end of our studies and our employment in an agency.

That is what my group has created:

Here are 5 agencies I would be really pleased to work with : 

Inky mole

 

 I like the way the uses a mix of patterns, drawings in their ads. This is exactly the kind of things I like to draw and here I can see how effectve it is. i like the tone it brings, lightness and humour.

 Sagmeister inc 

I really like how they play on type face, mixing every day life objects to create graphics. Their view of life, how they conceptualise it and reinvente is really interesting to me . The website is very well done and interactive.

MMMG

I choose this agency because I like the simplicity of their work. I realise that I have trouble selecting things I want to put in my work. I tend to want to prouve that I can do many things or think that if my work is to simple people will think that I haven't work enought.

This is a proof that simplicty an be very graphic and effective.

Naked

I really appreciate the professionalism of this agency. I had the opportunity of going in their office for a few hours to see their work during the openshop day. The atmosphere is very pleasant and I like the way they work. As far as I am concerned I believe that it is very hard for us to say if we like an agency or an other because their work is very wide but I really like the wat Naked present his work on his website. To me this is very important and I have been very surprised during mu research to see that some of the agencies'websites are very confusing and messy.

In short, I like the fact that on Naked website you can follow their pathway from the brief to their research, teir work and finally the outcome.

Why not associate

I like very much the simplicity, efficiency of their work. Why not correspond perfectly with the idea I have of design fo graphic communication : analysing, synthesize, understanding the demand and gathering all the researches in order to answer to the client.

AND GUESS WHAT? I will have the great opportunity of working with this agency for a while during term 2, thanks to my course!

12-10 Yo illustrator!

Today was my first trial of illustrator.
I really appreciated this because now, with photoshop, illutrator and InDesign, I feel like I have a billion possibilities and options to create.

Once more, what a master-piece!

10-11 OpenShop

On November the 10th, I have been attending to the "Openshop" day. 

During one day, we've been welcomed by 6 agencies which tried to explain us in their own way what is doing graphics, advertising, how to respond to the demand and so on.

Here are the agencies I have visited:

1°) Work Club

I really appreciated the welcoming and the building. This is a small agency where everybody seems to work in a friendly but professional atmosphere.

2°) Anomaly

Very relaxed atmosphere, but they frightened us a little by saying none of them had studied graphic design, communication or advertising, and everything was a question of feeling. How are we suppose to make you this good impression guys?

3°) Naked

The place is increadible, on the roofs of London. Very professional. Bigger Agency.

4°) Glue isobar

This is my favorite one. They took time to explain us

 very well each part of their job and the relationship between it. 

5°) Mother 

Mother's website here.

I did really appreciated the premises, It has the stereotyped look of an advertising agency: big open spaces in a kind of old factory, decoration of good taste... They stressed on the "emotionnal" part of their work to draw customer's attention.

6°) Poke 

To see Poke's website click on click. (yes it's was going off-putting)

Very delightful, open beer and chips! Conveying their message with humour and diplomacy.

06-11 KOKO

Saturday night, I have been to KOKO to see BREAKBOT, a french Dj named Thibaut Barland I appreciate. I like the music but also the visual identity he has created with his label:

This is a record cover he has designed.
